A hundred players, ten minutes, 309 quests — and tauren lost in Feralas
First large-scale report: in ten minutes, 309 quests turned in and 128 levels gained. But competition at the Mulgore starting camp revealed a flaw: when all nearby plainstriders were taken, level 2 tauren went looking for meat… in Feralas, a level 40 zone. Quest objectives are now limited to creatures of one's level, targets in the middle of a group are avoided, and a deadly quest is set aside.

The report
- 100 players in game, 99 without a client, Crashtroller on autopilot;
- levels: 6 at level 1, 51 at level 2, 38 at level 3, the veterans at 6-7;
- every starting zone active, including Azuremyst (draenei) and Eversong Woods (blood elves);
- 309 quests turned in, 158 gear pieces worn, 48 class trainer visits.
The flaw
Plainstrider meat drops from plainstriders in several regions. About ten tauren shared those of the camp: empty spawn points were set aside and the search took the next nearest plainstrider… all the way to Feralas. Elsewhere, Tarokh resurrected and went back to attack a tanner in the middle of the Palemane camp, again and again (19 deaths).
Fixes
- Targets of one's level: a quest objective only targets creatures whose template is at most 3 levels above. Quest NPCs are not affected.
- No target in the middle of a group: an idle monster surrounded by at least two other hostiles within 10 m is left alone.
- Give up, like a player: two deaths in 20 minutes on the same quest set it aside for 30 minutes.
