Autonomous players: they answer when spoken to

A real player can now greet, whisper or talk to an autonomous player, who answers with an emote or a short message after reading and typing time, in French or English.

Ignoring messages is the quickest giveaway of a machine-played character. Autonomous players now react to real players:

  • Emotes: a wave is returned, a bow too; a dance gets a dance or a cheer, an insult some annoyance, a thank-you a 'you're welcome'. Some emotes go unanswered, as with many players.
  • Whispers: short replies depending on the message (greeting, how are you, level, what they are doing, group offer, thanks, goodbye), in French or English depending on the speaker. A message not understood sometimes gets a plain '?'.
  • /say and party: a nearby greeting is sometimes returned, especially when called by name.

The pace stays human: 1.5 to 4 seconds to read, then about 5 characters per second to type. In the middle of a fight the reply comes afterwards. Beyond a few messages per minute they stop answering, like a focused player.

Live test: three autonomous players answered three whispers ('ça va, je quête', their level, 'farming a bit').
