Autonomous players: they finally drink their potions, and pick targets more wisely

272 players carried 1,393 healing potions without ever drinking one. In combat, below 35% health, they now drink their best potion, like any player in trouble. Target selection also accounts for the approach path and for humanoids that help each other. Night-time offline breaks survive server restarts.

  • Potions: in combat, below 35% health, the player drinks the best healing potion they can use; a caster below 15% mana drinks a mana potion. The server itself handles the cooldown. In the ten minutes after deployment: 243 potions drunk, and the window's mortality fell from 132 to 58 deaths.
  • Targets: a resting monster within 12 m of the approach path now counts as a neighbour of the prey, since walking past it wakes it up. For humanoids, which come to each other's aid, a single nearby neighbour is enough to rule out the target, and likewise in free hunting, where there is nothing to prove.
  • Night: a player on an offline break no longer comes back into the game on a server restart before their break is over.
